Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Zeruth remote-desktop platform ("Zeruth", "the Service"). By signing in, enrolling a device, or initiating a connection through Zeruth you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Zeruth is a remote-desktop and remote-support platform. It lets authenticated users connect to devices they own, share screens with other authenticated users, and receive remote support from a helper without creating an account. Connection media is end-to-end encrypted between the participating devices via WebRTC (DTLS-SRTP). Authentication and signaling traffic between a client and the Zeruth backend rides on TLS.

2. Account responsibilities

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials, MFA secrets, and connection passwords confidential.
• You are responsible for the activity that occurs through your account, except to the extent caused by our breach.
• You will notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect your account has been compromised.
• You are responsible for the consent and authorisation of every party whose screen you view or whose device you control through the Service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Connect to a device without the informed consent of its owner or authorised user.
• Distribute malware, phishing pages, or any content that violates applicable law.
• Attempt to circumvent authentication, authorisation, or rate-limiting controls.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically harvest the Service beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
• Resell or sublicense the Service without a written agreement with us.
• Use the Service in a manner that violates the privacy or rights of any individual.

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these rules, with or without prior notice depending on severity.

4. Intellectual property

The Zeruth name, logo, and software are the property of the Zeruth project. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the client applications and the Service solely for the purposes contemplated by these Terms. You retain all rights to the data you store in or transmit through the Service.

5. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference. Account deletion is described on the Account Deletion page.

6. Availability and limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis during the internal-testing phase. We do not commit to a specific uptime, throughput, or feature roadmap during this phase, and we may make breaking changes with notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service during the internal-testing phase is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, which may be zero. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

7. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion per the Account Deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, for legal compliance, or because the internal-testing phase ends and the Service moves to a different commercial arrangement. We will give you reasonable notice unless immediate action is required to protect the Service or other users.

8. Changes to these Terms

We will post any updated version on this page and update the effective date above. For material changes we will notify registered accounts by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

Governing law and venue will be confirmed before Zeruth leaves private internal-testing phase, alongside the legal entity that will hold the operating contract going forward. The current independent-developer arrangement is documented for transparency and is not a substitute for that final designation.
